Bengaluru Police Arrest Lawyer Who Killed Six-Year-Old Daughter to Live With Lover

A woman lawyer from Davanagere has been arrested by Bengaluru police after allegedly killing her five-year-old daughter to continue her relationship with a lover she believed to be a wealthy real estate businessman — who turned out to be a rental broker.

The case came to light after the victim's father grew suspicious of the post-mortem reports sent to him.

Mother Left Husband and Son, Took Daughter Along

As per the incident details, the accused, identified as Priyanka, a practising lawyer, abandoned her husband and son in Davanagere and left with her young daughter to live with her lover, Mohan.

She allegedly wanted to start a new life with Mohan, whom she believed was a wealthy real estate businessman and a crorepati. The daughter, however, was seen as an obstacle to that plan.

Priyanka allegedly killed the five-year-old child and subsequently sent fabricated post-mortem reports to her husband to conceal the death.

Forged Reports Exposed the Crime

The husband forwarded the reports to a friend, who flagged serious discrepancies. The friend reportedly identified that the child had been murdered and that the post-mortem documents had been tampered with.

A police investigation was launched following the complaint. In a similar Bengaluru police probe six-year-old child death case reported earlier, investigators had flagged how delayed medical scrutiny allowed key evidence to be concealed. Bengaluru police registered a case and took up the matter for a detailed probe.

Lover Was No Crorepati — Just a Broker

During the course of the police investigation, another fact emerged. Mohan, the lover Priyanka had left her family for, was not a real estate businessman as claimed. He was, in fact, a rental broker who arranged rental properties — far from the wealthy figure Priyanka had been led to believe.

Priyanka had abandoned her husband, her son, and ultimately killed her own daughter — based on a false assumption about her lover's financial standing.

Accused Now in Judicial Custody

As per the latest update, Priyanka has been taken into custody following the completion of the police investigation into the child's death. She now faces charges in connection with the murder of her daughter.

The case has drawn attention to the Bengaluru child death case and raised questions around the falsification of official medical documents in criminal matters.
