Tragedy in Kamareddy: Argument Over Dinner Turns Fatal

A heated domestic dispute over a meat curry tragically ended in murder in Kamareddy, Telangana, on Saturday night. Authorities report that a woman, in a sudden fit of rage, threw a sickle at her husband, leading to his immediate death. The shocking incident, which stemmed from a seemingly minor disagreement about dinner, has left a local community in disbelief and two young children orphaned.

Details of the Fatal Confrontation

According to Kamareddy Town Circle Inspector (CI) Narahari, the incident occurred in Gosangi Colony. The victim has been identified as Kodandam Shivaji, 28, a local scrap dealer. He and his wife, Lakshmi, had been married since 2017 and have two daughters, aged five and two.

The argument began late Saturday evening when Shivaji returned home and became angry that Lakshmi had not prepared a meat dish for dinner. Sources say the verbal altercation quickly escalated, with the couple shouting loudly at each other. Concerned neighbors intervened and managed to calm the situation temporarily.

A Moment of Rage Leads to a Lifetime of Regret

However, the peace was short-lived. The argument reportedly flared up again, and during this second confrontation, an enraged Lakshmi allegedly grabbed a nearby sickle and forcefully threw it at Shivaji. The sharp weapon struck him in the neck, severing a major artery. The profuse bleeding led to his death within 15 minutes, right at the scene, before any medical help could arrive.

Following the horrific event, Lakshmi was reportedly found grief-stricken, cradling her two daughters. She was heard lamenting her actions, expressing deep remorse and worrying about her children's future now that their father was gone and she would face legal consequences.

Police Investigation Underway

Police arrived at the scene shortly after, cordoning off the area and transferring the victim's body to a local hospital for a post-mortem examination. CI Narahari confirmed that a case has been registered based on a formal complaint filed by Shivaji’s brother, Suri. An official investigation into the Kamareddy murder is now underway to ascertain the full sequence of events leading to the tragedy.
