Visakhapatnam Software Engineer Dies Under Suspicious Circumstances at Uttarakhand Hotel During Trip With Husband
A 27-year-old software engineer from Visakhapatnam was found dead under suspicious circumstances at a homestay in Uttarakhand's Mussoorie region on Monday morning, prompting police to register a case and order a post-mortem examination.
The deceased, P. Radha Gayatri, worked as a software engineer at a firm in Gurugram. She had been married since November last year to Sricharan, an IT professional based in Pune, also from Visakhapatnam. The couple had been living in Kidwai Nagar East in Delhi.
The Trip and What Happened
Gayatri and Sricharan left Delhi for Rishikesh on June 13. The following day, Sunday evening, they checked into the Kiana Homestay in Tipridhaar, near Mussoorie. According to police, the couple entered their room around 11:30 that night.
Sricharan told investigators that both he and his wife consumed alcohol through the night before going to sleep around 3:30 in the early hours of Monday. When he woke up, he found Gayatri unresponsive on the floor — unclothed, lying in a pool of urine, with blood coming from her nose.
Police Response and Evidence Recovered
Uttarakhand police reached the scene after receiving information Monday morning. Ambulance personnel declared Gayatri dead at the scene. Officers noted bloodstains on the bedsheet in addition to the condition in which the body was found. Two empty liquor bottles and food items from the room were taken into police custody.
The body was sent to a hospital in Dehradun for post-mortem examination. Police requested that the autopsy be recorded on camera, a standard precaution taken in cases involving suspicious or unexplained deaths.
A case of suspicious death has been registered and the matter is under investigation.

Family Devastated, Some Travel to Mussoorie
Back in Visakhapatnam, relatives of Gayatri at her family home in Chinamusididivada were informed of the death. The news left the family in shock. Some members immediately made arrangements to travel to Mussoorie.
The circumstances surrounding Gayatri's death — the physical condition of the body, the presence of blood, and the account given by her husband — have drawn the attention of both local police and the victim's family, who are awaiting the findings of the post-mortem to understand what exactly occurred in that hotel room.
