Patamata Police Probe Vijayawada Jeep Collision Clash on High Tension Road

A violent Vijayawada jeep collision clash on High Tension Road created panic among commuters and pedestrians after two youths allegedly rammed their vehicles into each other following a personal dispute. The latest update from Patamata Police confirmed that a case registered process has been initiated and an investigation is underway.

The incident took place on Thursday night near RR Garden on High Tension Road under Patamata police station limits in Vijayawada. Eyewitnesses said the youths repeatedly crashed their jeeps into one another on the busy road, triggering fear among people passing through the area.

According to incident details, the two youths involved were identified as Lingamaneni Rohith, an engineering student from Tadigadapa, and Bolla Om from Bharathi Nagar in Vijayawada. Police sources said both had reportedly known each other since childhood.

Officials stated that differences between the two allegedly emerged over a young woman. The disagreement reportedly escalated after a phone conversation between them on Thursday night, during which both allegedly challenged each other and agreed to meet near RR Garden.

Police investigation findings indicate that Om arrived at the location in a Thar jeep and allegedly rammed Rohith’s vehicle. The situation intensified when both began repeatedly crashing their jeeps into each other on the road.

Patamata Police Register Case After High Tension Road Incident

Witnesses said the vehicles collided multiple times and continued dragging along the road for nearly 100 metres. People who were walking nearby and motorists passing through the stretch reportedly ran from the spot in panic after witnessing the aggressive confrontation.

Even after the vehicles were damaged, the confrontation allegedly continued. Sources said the youths got out of their vehicles and damaged car windows using rods during the altercation.

Following information received by local authorities, Patamata Police rushed to the spot. However, officials said Rohith allegedly fled the location after abandoning his jeep before police arrived.

Patamata Circle Inspector Pawan Kishore confirmed that Om was taken to the police station for questioning. An official statement from police said a case registered procedure has been completed and further investigation is continuing.

Police officials are examining CCTV footage and collecting statements from witnesses as part of the ongoing police investigation.
