Mumbai Police Probe Death of TV Actress Sanchita Ugale, 22, Found Hanging at Nalasopara Home
Mumbai police are investigating the death of 22-year-old television actress Sanchita Ugale, who was found hanging at her residence in Nalasopara on Sunday evening. The actress, known for her role in the popular serial Kumkum Bhagya, was alone at home when the incident took place.
As per police sources, the incident occurred between 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM on Sunday. Family members were not present at the time. Sanchita was discovered in her room, where she had allegedly hung herself from the ceiling fan.
She was rushed to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared her brought dead. An Accidental Death Report has since been registered by the local police.
What Police Have Found So Far
Hours before the incident came to light, Sanchita had shared photos and videos on her social media accounts — a detail investigators are now looking into closely. No suicide note or physical evidence has been recovered from the scene so far, as per officials.
The cause of death remains under investigation. Police have recorded statements from family members and are also questioning her co-actors and people from her professional circle as part of the ongoing probe.
The postmortem has been completed. Further steps in the investigation will follow once the postmortem report is formally submitted, police said.

Sanchita had built a steady career in Hindi television over a short span. She was best known for playing the character Dia Tandon in Kumkum Bhagya, a widely watched serial that gave her recognition among viewers across India.
She had also appeared in Wagh Ki Duniya and the TV drama Dilwali Dulha Le Jayegi, among other projects. She was part of the cast of the film Chava as well.
At the time of her death, she was living with her parents and sister in Nalasopara, a suburb on Mumbai's western outskirts.
