Tirupati Woman Alleges Husband Forced Her Into Nude Video Calls for Money

A woman from Andhra Pradesh's Tirupati district has alleged that her husband coerced her into participating in nude video calls through a mobile application, exploited her financially for several years, subjected her to repeated physical abuse, and later sought divorce after one of the videos surfaced online. She has also accused a police constable of sexually harassing her when she approached authorities seeking legal action.

The allegations emerged from Kotha Kandriga village near Baduru in the Kuppam constituency of Tirupati district. The woman has appealed for justice and custody of her children, while accusing both her husband and a police official of exploiting her during different stages of the ordeal.

Husband allegedly created online account during financial crisis

According to the woman's account, the incidents began during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the family's financial condition deteriorated following the economic disruption caused by the outbreak.

She alleged that her husband, whose name has reportedly been changed to "Munnuswami Reddy" to protect identities, persuaded her to participate in nude video calls on an online platform identified as the "Chill Chat" application. Initially unwilling, she claimed she was repeatedly told that the activity would help the family overcome its financial difficulties.

The woman alleged that her husband created an account in her name on the application and encouraged her to engage in explicit video calls with users. According to her, he subsequently earned lakhs of rupees through the activity.

Allegations of coercion, confinement and assault

The woman stated that after some time she decided to stop participating in the video calls, citing concern for the future of her growing children.

She alleged that her refusal led to continuous abuse. According to her complaint, her husband threatened self-harm, physically assaulted her, verbally abused her, and forced her to continue making nude video calls. She further alleged that she was at times confined in a room and compelled to participate against her will.

Unable to endure the situation, she left the house with her younger daughter. However, she alleged that when she later returned to meet her elder daughter, her husband assaulted her, causing bleeding injuries.

Viral video allegedly led to further harassment

The woman also alleged that one of her old nude video call recordings was later circulated on social media by unidentified individuals.

Following the video's circulation, she said she faced humiliation within her community. She further alleged that her husband used the incident against her, claiming his reputation had been damaged and demanding a divorce.

According to the woman, he also took ₹18 lakh that she had earned along with her gold jewellery before forcing her out of the house.

Police constable accused of sexual harassment

The woman said she subsequently approached the Tirupati Women's Police Station seeking legal action against her husband.

However, she alleged that instead of receiving support, she faced insensitive treatment. She also accused a constable posted at the R.C. Puram Police Station of sending inappropriate messages after learning about her case.

According to her allegations, the constable claimed he had watched her viral video and demanded that she meet him at night if she wanted her complaint to proceed. She has described the messages as sexually harassing.

Woman seeks custody of children

The woman has now spoken publicly about her experience, stating that her primary concern is the safety and future of her two children.

She has appealed to authorities to reunite her with them, alleging that she fears for their welfare if they remain with her husband.

At present, the allegations have been made publicly by the woman. Information regarding police action against the accused husband or the constable has not been confirmed in the source material.
