Tirupati Police Register Rape Case, Arrest House Owner in Assault Bid

A serious incident involving an attempted sexual assault on a woman has been reported in Tirupati. The case falls under the jurisdiction of Alipiri Police Station and occurred in Sriram Nagar, Akkarampalli Road.
The incident took place in the early hours of Thursday, April 2. The victim, a woman staying alone with her child, was allegedly targeted by her house owner.
Allegations of Assault and Blackmail
According to the complaint, the accused, identified as Srinivasulu Reddy, allegedly attempted to sexually assault the woman. He is also accused of behaving in an obscene manner and taking photographs on his mobile phone.
Police said the accused used the photographs to blackmail and threaten the victim. The woman, whose husband is currently working abroad, later approached her relatives and decided to file a formal complaint.
Police Action and Arrest
Following the complaint, Alipiri police registered a rape case against Srinivasulu Reddy. The accused was taken into custody after sustained efforts by the police over a period of two days.
Officials confirmed that the accused will be produced before a court either today or tomorrow. He is expected to be remanded to judicial custody as part of the ongoing legal process.
