Tirupati Chain Snatching: Woman Loses 36-Gram Gold Chain in Muni Reddy Nagar

A woman was robbed of her 36-gram gold chain in a chain-snatching incident reported from Muni Reddy Nagar under the jurisdiction of the SV University Police Station in Tirupati on Sunday night. Police have initiated an investigation, and a case is being registered based on the victim's complaint.

According to preliminary information, the victim, identified as Parvathi, is a resident of P.N.R. Apartments in Muni Reddy Nagar. The incident occurred while she was returning home after visiting her daughter's residence, which is located on a nearby street.

As she was making her way back, unidentified persons allegedly snatched the gold chain weighing approximately 36 grams from her neck before fleeing the scene. The sudden incident left the victim shocked, prompting her to alert the police.

Following the report, Crime DSP Shyam Sundar visited the spot along with police personnel to assess the situation and oversee the initial investigation. Officers examined the scene and began collecting information that could help identify those responsible for the theft.

Police are expected to review available evidence and pursue all possible leads as part of the investigation. The circumstances surrounding the chain snatching are being examined to determine how the offence was carried out.

Officials of the SV University Police Station said a case is being registered based on Parvathi's complaint. Further investigation is underway to trace the suspects and recover the stolen gold chain.
