Telangana Government Plans Unified Welfare Card for All Citizens

The Telangana government has initiated steps to introduce a ‘Samagra Sankshema Card’ or Unified Welfare Card to integrate details of all welfare schemes provided to citizens under a single platform. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed officials to prepare the system on priority and begin collecting beneficiary data from all departments.

The latest update came during a high-level review meeting chaired by the Chief Minister on Wednesday. Officials discussed the proposed welfare integration model and the mechanism required to maintain citizen-wise welfare records in a centralized format.

According to official instructions, the Unified Welfare Card will contain complete information about benefits being received by an individual through various government departments and welfare schemes. The government aims to ensure that authorities can clearly identify which citizen is receiving benefits, under which scheme, and to what extent.

CM Revanth Reddy Reviews Unified Welfare Card Plan

During the review meeting, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy instructed officials to immediately begin the groundwork for the welfare card initiative. He asked departments to coordinate and share beneficiary databases to build a comprehensive welfare profile for every citizen in the state.

The meeting was attended by Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao, CM Special Secretary B. Ajith Reddy, and IT Department Joint Secretary Anudeep Durishetty, along with other senior officials.

Officials were directed to conduct a special data collection drive across departments to ensure that welfare records are updated and integrated without duplication. The government is expected to use digital infrastructure to streamline the process.

Telangana Welfare Schemes to Be Linked Under One System

The proposed Samagra Sankshema Card is intended to bring all welfare scheme information under a single unified database. Officials said the move would improve administrative monitoring and help maintain accurate beneficiary records.

The Telangana government has been focusing on digital governance and centralized service delivery in recent years. The Unified Welfare Card is expected to become a key part of that effort by consolidating welfare-related data into one accessible system.

The Chief Minister stated that the card would allow the government to maintain a complete welfare profile of every citizen in Telangana. The initiative is also expected to help departments coordinate more effectively while implementing welfare schemes.

Government Begins Data Collection Process

As part of the implementation process, officials have been asked to begin collecting beneficiary details from all departments immediately. The government has not yet announced a rollout timeline for the welfare card project.

The official statement from the review meeting indicated that the state government wants the system to function as a centralized welfare tracking mechanism. Further updates on the project structure and implementation are expected after departmental coordination meetings.

The Telangana government’s Unified Welfare Card initiative is likely to become a major administrative exercise aimed at improving welfare delivery, data integration, and citizen service management across departments.
