Telangana Cabinet Approves Second Phase Indiramma Houses Allocation
The Telangana Cabinet has approved the second phase of the Indiramma Houses scheme, giving clearance for the construction of 2.5 lakh houses across the state. The decision was taken during the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy at the Dr BR Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat in Hyderabad on Saturday.
The latest update on the Indiramma Houses scheme is expected to benefit thousands of low-income families across urban and rural regions. The state government also announced plans to extend housing support in Hyderabad’s core urban areas.
Cabinet Approves 2.5 Lakh Indiramma Houses
As part of the second phase, the Telangana Cabinet resolved to sanction 2.5 lakh Indiramma Houses statewide. The government decided to allocate 2,000 houses to each Assembly constituency under the housing programme.
Officials said the move is aimed at accelerating the state housing initiative and ensuring wider coverage for economically weaker sections. The Cabinet approval marks a major step in the implementation of the government’s welfare and housing policy.
CM Revanth Reddy To Launch Scheme in Sirpur Kagaznagar
The formal launch of the second phase of the Indiramma Houses programme will take place on June 1 at Sirpur Kagaznagar in Asifabad district. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is scheduled to inaugurate the programme officially.
Government sources indicated that district-level authorities and housing department officials have already begun preparations for the rollout. The official statement from the Cabinet meeting confirmed that the programme would be implemented in a phased manner.
Hyderabad Urban Housing Plan Gets Cabinet Clearance
In another significant decision, the Cabinet approved the construction of one lakh Indiramma Houses within the limits of 24 Assembly constituencies located in Hyderabad’s core urban region.
The state government observed that many poor and middle-class families in Hyderabad do not own house sites. In view of this, authorities decided to identify land within the same localities where such families are currently residing and construct houses there.
Officials stated that the urban housing plan is intended to address long-pending accommodation issues faced by economically weaker families in densely populated city areas.
Housing Scheme Focuses on Poor and Middle-Class Families
The Indiramma Houses scheme remains one of the Telangana government’s key welfare programmes focused on housing assistance. The second phase approval comes amid increasing demand for affordable housing in both urban and semi-urban regions.
The Cabinet meeting also discussed multiple governance and development matters, though housing remained one of the major decisions announced after the meeting. Further implementation guidelines and beneficiary selection details are expected from the concerned departments in the coming days.
The latest update on the Indiramma Houses scheme is likely to play a significant role in Telangana’s welfare agenda, particularly ahead of the large-scale rollout beginning next month.
