Telangana government schedules release of Rythu Bharosa second instalment funds

Second phase payment timeline finalised
The Telangana government has fixed the timeline for disbursing the second instalment of financial assistance under the Rythu Bharosa scheme. The support is being extended to farmers for the ongoing Yasangi season.

Officials indicated that the second instalment will be credited to eligible farmers’ bank accounts on or before April 15. The benefit will apply to farmers holding up to five acres of land.

First instalment already credited in March
The government had earlier released the first instalment on March 22 in Siddipet district. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy formally initiated the transfer by pressing a button to credit funds directly into farmers’ accounts.

In the first phase, a total of Rs. 3,590 crore was transferred to around 70 lakh landowners. Farmers received financial assistance at the rate of Rs. 6,000 per acre, irrespective of the size of their landholding, including those owning less than one acre.

Eligibility and payment structure for second instalment
For the second instalment, the government has defined eligibility for farmers owning land between one acre and five acres. The payment will account for the remaining eligible amount after deducting the assistance already provided in the first phase.

Officials stated that the balance amount corresponding to the remaining land extent, up to five acres, will be credited during this phase. This ensures that eligible farmers receive the full entitled support under the scheme in a staggered manner.

Funds allocation and administrative direction
To facilitate timely payments, the government has reportedly directed the Finance Department to arrange approximately Rs. 2,700 crore for the second instalment. The move is aimed at ensuring that disbursements are completed within the scheduled timeframe.

The phased release is part of a broader administrative plan to streamline financial assistance and manage budget allocations effectively during the agricultural season.

Final instalment expected by month-end
Officials indicated that the government plans to complete the disbursement process in three phases. Following the second instalment in mid-April, the third and final instalment is likely to be released by the end of April.

With this, the total financial assistance earmarked for the Yasangi season, amounting to Rs. 9,000 crore, is expected to be fully distributed to eligible farmers across the state.
