Retired Teacher Dies by Suicide in Jangaon, Leaves 20-Page Note Alleging Harassment
A retired school teacher in Telangana's Jangaon district died by suicide after leaving behind a 20-page note in which he alleged that delays in receiving his retirement benefits, financial disputes with relatives, and the handling of his legal efforts contributed to his decision. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the allegations contained in the note.
The deceased has been identified as Pagidipalli Mallaiah, a retired teacher who lived in the Industrial Area of Jangaon town. According to police and local accounts cited in the source report, Mallaiah had been experiencing prolonged financial distress linked to unpaid retirement dues and money he claimed was owed to him by relatives.
In the handwritten note, Mallaiah reportedly stated that the Telangana government, his brother-in-law, and other relatives were responsible for his death. He also referred to a High Court judge, alleging that developments in his legal pursuit of justice had contributed to his circumstances. The allegations made in the note have not been independently verified, and authorities are investigating the matter.
Financial hardship and family dispute
According to the information available, Mallaiah had served as a teacher for many years before retiring. After retirement, he was reportedly waiting to receive financial benefits due to him, including his General Provident Fund (GPF).
The note alleges that the release of these retirement benefits was significantly delayed, placing him under severe financial pressure. At the same time, he reportedly claimed that his brother-in-law and other relatives had borrowed substantial amounts of money from him and failed to repay the dues despite repeated requests.
The combination of financial strain and unresolved family disputes is said to have caused considerable emotional distress.
Allegations related to legal proceedings
The source report states that Mallaiah had approached the court seeking relief over his grievances. However, he reportedly felt that he did not receive the outcome he had hoped for.
In his 20-page note, he mentioned a High Court judge while describing the events that he believed had contributed to his situation. The report does not indicate any official findings supporting those allegations, and they remain claims made by the deceased.
Police begin investigation
After receiving information about the incident, Jangaon police reached the residence, recovered the body, and shifted it to a hospital for post-mortem examination.
Police also seized the 20-page note from the scene as part of the investigation. Based on the contents of the note, a case has been registered against the deceased's brother-in-law and other relatives, and further investigation is underway.
Authorities have not announced any conclusions regarding the allegations made in the note. The investigation is expected to examine the circumstances surrounding Mallaiah's death, including the claims relating to financial disputes and alleged harassment.
The incident has drawn attention in the district because of the detailed nature of the note and the issues it raises concerning retirement benefits and personal financial disputes. Police have not released additional details beyond confirming that the investigation is in progress.
