IPL Officials Record Punjab Kings Victory Over Lucknow Super Giants

Punjab Kings registered a dominant seven-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants in Match 68 of IPL 2026 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. The latest IPL update saw Punjab Kings chase down a target of 197 in just 18 overs with a strong batting display led by Shreyas Iyer.

The Punjab Kings vs Lucknow Super Giants match produced another high-scoring contest in IPL 2026, with both teams crossing the 190-run mark. Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer remained unbeaten on 101 off 51 balls and guided the team comfortably to victory.

Punjab Kings had won the toss and elected to bowl first. The decision worked well despite Lucknow Super Giants putting up a competitive total of 196/6 in 20 overs.

Lucknow Super Giants Post Competitive Total

Lucknow Super Giants opener Josh Inglis played a major role with a quick 72 runs off 44 deliveries, including nine boundaries and two sixes. Ayush Badoni added momentum during the middle overs with a rapid 43 off just 18 balls.

Rishabh Pant contributed 26 runs, while Abdul Samad remained unbeaten on 37 from 20 deliveries. However, LSG lost wickets at regular intervals after a solid start and failed to cross the 200-run mark.

Punjab Kings bowlers managed to control the scoring during crucial overs. Marco Jansen picked up two wickets for 33 runs, while Yuzvendra Chahal delivered an economical spell and claimed two important wickets.

Azmatullah Omarzai and Shashank Singh also chipped in with one wicket each during the innings. The bowling attack restricted Lucknow Super Giants despite aggressive batting in patches.

Shreyas Iyer Century Powers Punjab Kings Chase

Punjab Kings lost Priyansh Arya on the very first ball of the innings after Mohammed Shami struck early for Lucknow Super Giants. However, Prabhsimran Singh and Shreyas Iyer rebuilt the innings with an aggressive partnership.

Prabhsimran Singh scored 69 runs off 39 balls with seven fours and two sixes before Arjun Tendulkar dismissed him. Cooper Connolly also added a quick 18 runs during the powerplay phase.

Shreyas Iyer then completely shifted the momentum in Punjab Kings’ favour with an unbeaten century. His innings included 11 boundaries and five sixes at a strike rate close to 200.

Punjab Kings eventually reached 200/3 in 18 overs and secured an important IPL 2026 victory with 12 balls remaining.

Bowling Struggles Continue for Lucknow Super Giants

Lucknow Super Giants bowlers struggled to contain runs throughout the chase. Mohammed Shami picked up two wickets but conceded 45 runs in his four-over spell.

Mohsin Khan, Digvesh Rathi, and Prince Yadav also proved expensive as Punjab Kings batters dominated the scoring rate from the early overs.
