NTR District police have initiated an investigation following a violent knife attack on a woman in Kanchikacherla on Tuesday. The incident occurred in Vasantha Colony, where an unidentified assailant targeted the victim inside her residence.
The victim, identified as Ramadevi, was reportedly alone at her home when the attacker gained entry. According to preliminary reports from the scene, the assailant used a sharp weapon to inflict multiple injuries before fleeing the area.
Critical Injuries Sustained in Vasantha Colony
Local residents discovered Ramadevi in a pool of blood shortly after the attack. Emergency medical assistance was sought immediately as the victim had sustained at least six deep stab wounds across her body.
Witnesses moved the injured woman to a nearby private hospital in Nandigama for urgent surgical intervention. Hospital authorities have not yet issued a formal statement regarding her current clinical stability, though her condition is described as serious.

Upon receiving information about the stabbing, Kanchikacherla police personnel reached the spot to secure the crime scene. Forensic teams were summoned to collect evidence that might lead to the identification of the perpetrator.
