Cyber Crime Police summon actress Vishnupriya following AISF complaint over explicit content
The Andhra Pradesh Cyber Crime Police have initiated an investigation into actress and television anchor Vishnupriya following a formal complaint regarding the nature of her digital content. The actress appeared at the police station for questioning after officials issued a summons in connection with allegations raised by a student organization.
The controversy erupted after members of the All India Students' Federation (AISF) approached the police, alleging that the actress is misleading the youth through the publication of semi-nude photographs and videos on various social media platforms. The student wing sought immediate intervention to regulate such content.
Allegations of paid subscription for private videos
According to the complaint filed by AISF, the actress is reportedly offering private videos to users who pay a specific subscription fee. The student federation claimed that these videos are being shared exclusively with individuals who complete financial transactions, suggesting a commercialized model for explicit digital media.
The complainants alleged that the actress has been filming content specifically for this payment-based distribution system. They argued that such practices fall under the purview of digital indecency and require a thorough probe into the monetization methods used for distributing private footage.
Police investigation and legal proceedings
The Cyber Crime wing registered a case based on the representation and subsequently directed the anchor to join the investigation. Vishnupriya arrived at the police station to provide her statement and respond to the specific charges leveled against her regarding the subscription-based content.
Police officials are currently examining the digital evidence and the platforms mentioned in the AISF complaint. The investigation aims to determine if any provisions of the Information Technology (IT) Act have been violated. Further administrative action will be determined based on the findings of the ongoing interrogation.
