Pawan Kalyan’s Fan Niranjan Dies After Long Battle With Rare Genetic Disorder
Seventeen-year-old Ponuganti Niranjan, a devoted fan of actor and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, has died after a prolonged battle with a rare genetic disorder. Niranjan passed away while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Hyderabad on Tuesday night, weeks after fulfilling his long-held wish of meeting the actor in person.
The news has prompted an outpouring of grief among Pawan Kalyan's admirers and members of the Jana Sena Party, many of whom remembered the emotional meeting between the actor and the teenager earlier this year.
Niranjan was a resident of Hanumakonda in Telangana's Warangal district. According to his family, he had lived with the rare genetic condition for several years. They recalled that he was passionate about dancing during his childhood, but the disease gradually affected his physical development. As his condition worsened over time, he eventually became bedridden.
A Wish Fulfilled Through a Personal Visit
In June, Pawan Kalyan travelled to Niranjan's residence in Hanumakonda after watching a video in which the teenager expressed his heartfelt desire to meet the actor.
Sharing the experience on X, formerly Twitter, Pawan Kalyan wrote: "A few days ago, I came across a video of Niranjan from Hanumakonda, Warangal, who is bravely battling a rare disease and had expressed a heartfelt wish to meet me. Today, I had the privilege of visiting him and spending time with him and his family."

The actor also said that Niranjan's "courage, resilience, and unwavering spirit in the face of adversity" had deeply inspired him.
The meeting resonated widely with fans after photographs and videos of the interaction were shared online. During the visit, Pawan Kalyan greeted the teenager warmly, kissed his hand, and presented him with prasadam and silk garments that he had specially brought from Tirupati.
Gesture Extended Beyond the Visit
The actor's support did not end with the personal meeting. After learning that Niranjan loved dogs, Pawan Kalyan arranged for a puppy to be gifted to him within hours. He also extended financial assistance to the family.
The visit created several memorable moments for the teenager and his family. Pawan Kalyan and Niranjan posed for selfies together, and the actor made a personal promise that if his upcoming film OG 2 went on floors, Niranjan would be invited as a special guest so they could watch the film together.
