NTR Health University Debars 15 Medical Students Over Mass Copying
The NTR Health University mass copying case has resulted in strict disciplinary action against medical students found guilty of examination malpractice. Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences has debarred 15 students for one year after detecting mass copying during annual examinations conducted for various medical and allied health courses.

According to university authorities, action was taken against a total of 21 students involved in mass copying during annual examinations for MBBS, BDS, BPT, medical postgraduate and AYUSH courses.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. P. Chandrasekhar stated that 15 students whose examinations had already concluded were debarred from appearing for examinations for one year. The disciplinary action forms part of the university's efforts to curb examination malpractice.
Among the students debarred, six were pursuing MBBS, eight were enrolled in BDS programmes, and one was a BPT student.
University Announces Further Action Against Remaining Students
University officials said disciplinary proceedings against the remaining six students are pending because their examinations have not yet concluded.
Authorities indicated that action against these students will be taken after the completion of their respective examinations. The university has not disclosed additional details regarding the specific examination centres or subjects involved.
The official statement emphasised that examination rules and academic standards would be strictly enforced to prevent future violations.
Fine Imposed on Examination Centres
Apart from action against students, the university also imposed penalties on colleges where the incidents of mass copying were reported.
Officials confirmed that a fine of Rs. 50,000 was levied on the colleges functioning as examination centres where the malpractice occurred. The measure is intended to strengthen monitoring mechanisms and ensure better supervision during future examinations.
The decision reflects the university's policy of holding both students and institutions accountable in cases involving examination irregularities.
