Police Probe NEET Aspirant Suicide After Exam Cancellation Shock

A NEET aspirant suicide case from Gangotrinagar has drawn attention after a 21-year-old student allegedly died by suicide following the cancellation of the NEET examination over a reported paper leak. The latest update in the incident has intensified concerns over the pressure faced by competitive exam candidates across the country.

The deceased was identified as Ritik Mishra, who was preparing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). According to family members, this was his third attempt at clearing the medical entrance examination, and he was confident about securing a good result this year.

Police officials began an investigation after Ritik was found dead inside a locked room at his residence on Thursday. Family members stated that no suicide note was recovered from the scene during the initial police investigation.

NEET Aspirant Suicide Linked to Exam Cancellation

According to the victim’s father, Ritik had been preparing seriously for the examination and believed he had performed well. The family alleged that the cancellation of the exam following the reported paper leak deeply affected him mentally.

The NEET aspirant suicide incident has once again brought focus on the emotional pressure surrounding national-level entrance examinations. Family members claimed that the sudden uncertainty over the examination outcome disturbed the student in the days leading up to the incident.

Police have not issued any detailed official statement regarding the exact reason behind the death. However, authorities are expected to record statements from family members as part of the ongoing investigation.

Police Investigation Continues in Gangotrinagar Incident

Officials said the body was recovered from the house in the Gangotrinagar locality and further legal procedures were initiated after the incident details emerged. A case registered in connection with the unnatural death is being handled according to standard procedure.

The latest update from the family suggests that Ritik had invested several years in NEET preparation and remained focused on pursuing a medical career. Relatives said he had been hopeful about this attempt before the exam controversy surfaced.

The NEET paper leak issue had already triggered public debate in several states after allegations of irregularities and exam malpractice emerged. The cancellation and scrutiny surrounding the examination created uncertainty among lakhs of students waiting for the results.

Family Members Cite Mental Stress After NEET Paper Leak

Close relatives of the deceased linked the NEET paper leak controversy and subsequent exam cancellation to the emotional stress faced by the student. They maintained that Ritik was mentally disturbed after the developments surrounding the examination.

Police officials have continued the inquiry into the incident while awaiting further forensic and procedural reports. No additional details were officially disclosed at the time of reporting.

The NEET aspirant suicide case has again highlighted the growing concerns over academic pressure, exam-related stress, and uncertainty linked to competitive entrance tests in India. Authorities are expected to continue the police investigation based on statements and available evidence.
