The Narasaraopet police have initiated an investigation following a high-value theft where ₹5 lakh was stolen from a parked scooter. The incident occurred at Jonnalagadda on the Narasaraopet Bypass while the victim was commuting from the town to Vemulurupadu.

The victim had stopped his scooter at a wholesale onion shop in Jonnalagadda to make a purchase. According to preliminary reports, the cash was stored inside the storage compartment of the two-wheeler. The theft took place during the brief window when the owner stepped inside the store.

CCTV Footage Captures Theft Sequence

Upon returning to the vehicle, the owner discovered that the cash was missing. Local authorities were immediately alerted to the scene. During the initial spot inquiry, the police examined surveillance footage from the establishment and surrounding areas.

The CCTV cameras reportedly captured the moment the unidentified suspect approached the vehicle and made away with the cash. The footage shows the culprit acting swiftly while the victim was occupied inside the wholesale shop.

Police Launch Manhunt for Suspect

The Narasaraopet police have registered a case and are currently analyzing the visual evidence to identify the perpetrator. They are investigating whether the victim was trailed from a bank or a business establishment in Narasaraopet town, as the precision of the theft suggests the suspect may have had prior knowledge of the cash.

Patrol teams have been alerted across the Jonnalagadda bypass area to track the movement of the suspect based on the physical descriptions obtained from the digital records. Local residents have expressed concern over the brazen nature of the crime occurring on a busy bypass road.

Security Advisory for Cash Transit

Law enforcement officials have urged the public to exercise caution while transporting large sums of money on two-wheelers. They advised against leaving cash unattended in vehicle compartments, especially in public commercial hubs.

The recovery of the stolen amount depends on the identification of the suspect through the network of cameras along the Narasaraopet-Vemulurupadu route. Further updates are expected once the forensic analysis of the footage is completed.
