Police Register FIR After Mother Press Release in POCSO Case

A mother press release POCSO case statement released on Friday has raised serious allegations of sexual assault, blackmail, and delayed police action in Telangana. The victim’s mother appealed for a fair police investigation and requested media organisations not to reveal the identity of her daughter.

According to the press release, the victim came into contact with Bandi Bhageerath during 2025. The mother alleged that he initially behaved like a friend before mentally influencing the girl and affecting her education and personal life over time.

The family claimed that in January 2026, after an argument between the two, the girl disclosed multiple incidents of alleged sexual assault. The mother alleged that one incident occurred on December 31 after the victim was allegedly forced to consume alcohol, while another incident reportedly took place inside an apartment.

In the official statement, the mother claimed that while the family was preparing for legal action against the accused, a blackmail case was allegedly filed against her daughter on April 21, 2026.

She further stated that a person identified as Sangappa visited their house on April 22 and attempted to mediate between both parties. The next day, the family reportedly met BJP leader Bandi Sanjay Kumar through the same individual.

According to the mother press release POCSO case statement, the family expected support regarding the incident details. However, she alleged that they were threatened and spoken to disrespectfully during the meeting. No official statement from Bandi Sanjay regarding the allegations was mentioned in the release.

Pet Basheerabad Police Register POCSO Case FIR

The victim’s mother stated that she later decided to approach the police directly and visited Pet Basheerabad Police Station with her daughter on May 8 to file a complaint.

She alleged that police officials initially refused to accept the complaint and made the family wait for several hours despite repeated requests. After continued pressure, police eventually registered an FIR against Bandi Bhageerath.

The mother further alleged that weaker sections were initially added in the case registered, which could allow the accused to secure bail. However, after recording the victim’s statement, police reportedly changed the relevant sections in the FIR.

Counter-Case Filed During Police Investigation

According to the family, while they were waiting at the police station, they came to know that Bandi Bhageerath had allegedly filed another case at Karimnagar II Town Police Station.

The mother requested authorities to preserve CCTV footage and station register timings from Pet Basheerabad Police Station. She claimed the footage could establish the exact timing of both complaints and support the ongoing police investigation.

She also appealed to media houses and social media users not to share the victim’s photographs or identity, citing legal protections available in POCSO cases.
