Medak Collector Cancels Fake Caste Certificate in Teacher Recruitment Case

A fake caste certificate case linked to the 2024 DSC teacher recruitment process has surfaced in Telangana’s Medak district, with district authorities cancelling the caste and non-creamy layer certificates of a government teacher. The latest update has drawn attention to verification procedures in government recruitment and reservation-based appointments.

According to official records, the action was taken after a complaint alleged that a candidate secured a Secondary Grade Teacher (SGT) post using incorrect caste category documents. The incident details emerged during a departmental inquiry conducted by revenue and education authorities.

Fake Caste Certificate Used in DSC Recruitment

The issue is connected to the 2024 DSC notification under which five SGT posts were allocated in the BC-E category. A woman candidate identified as Sanabegam from Tampuluru village in Tekmal mandal reportedly obtained employment by submitting BC-E caste and non-creamy layer certificates.

She was later appointed as a teacher in a government school in the same village. The recruitment process initially cleared her candidature based on the submitted certificates and supporting documents.

However, another DSC aspirant, Mohammed Nawaz from Papannapet mandal, submitted a formal complaint to district authorities questioning the validity of the caste category claimed by the teacher.

Medak District Administration Conducts Investigation

The complaint alleged that the teacher actually belonged to the BC-B Dudekula community and not the BC-E category under which the appointment was secured. Authorities were also provided with supporting documents and related records during the complaint process.

Following the complaint, revenue officials and education department authorities launched a detailed verification exercise. The police investigation angle was not officially mentioned, but departmental scrutiny was initiated to verify the authenticity of the certificates.

During the inquiry, officials reportedly found discrepancies in the caste and non-creamy layer certificates submitted during recruitment. The investigation report was later submitted to the district administration for further action.

Collector Issues Orders Cancelling Certificates

Based on the inquiry findings, Pratima Singh issued orders cancelling both the caste certificate and the non-creamy layer certificate of the teacher. The official statement from district authorities confirmed that the documents were found invalid during verification.

The cancellation orders were issued on Tuesday following completion of the departmental inquiry. Officials indicated that strict scrutiny would continue in cases involving reservation-based recruitment and alleged misuse of caste certificates.

The latest update in the fake caste certificate case has triggered discussion over document verification standards in teacher recruitment and government job appointments in Telangana.

Recruitment Verification Under Focus

The incident has once again highlighted concerns regarding certificate verification in competitive recruitment examinations and reservation quota appointments. Authorities have not yet released additional details regarding further departmental or legal action in the matter.

Officials stated that inquiries would continue wherever complaints are received with supporting evidence. The Medak district administration has maintained that action will be taken in accordance with rules if irregularities are identified in recruitment records.
