Maharashtra Police Probe Mother Abandoning Children on Bus Route
A shocking child abandonment case from Maharashtra has triggered a police investigation after a woman allegedly left her two children sleeping inside a bus and fled with her lover on a scooter. The latest update in the incident has also revealed allegations of theft involving the woman and her companion.
According to incident details, the 26-year-old woman belongs to Yavatmal district in Maharashtra’s Beed region. She reportedly boarded a bus to Tuljapur along with her two children before allegedly planning her escape midway through the journey.
Police Investigation Reveals Planned Escape With Lover
During the journey, the woman allegedly sent a message to her lover asking him to arrive at a specific location on the route. Once he reached the spot, she reportedly left the children asleep inside the bus and escaped with him on a scooter.
Police sources said the scooter, mobile phone and money used during the escape were allegedly obtained after the lover stole them from the woman’s father. Authorities are now examining the sequence of events and the role of the accused individuals.
The case has drawn attention due to the condition in which the children were left unattended during travel. Officials said the children later woke up and started crying after failing to find their mother inside the bus.
Bus Conductor Hands Children Over to Police
After noticing the situation, the bus conductor alerted local police and handed over the children to authorities. During preliminary checks, police found a slip of paper kept with the children containing the address and phone number of the woman’s father.
According to police investigation officials, the note reportedly requested that the children be handed over to their grandfather. However, the father informed authorities that he was unable to take responsibility for the children.
He also reportedly claimed that the scooter, money and mobile phone involved in the incident had been stolen by his daughter through her lover. Police have not yet issued a detailed official statement regarding possible charges or whether a case registered against the accused includes theft-related sections.
Children Shifted to Government Care Centre
Following the developments, police shifted the children to a government protection and care centre. Authorities said the welfare of the children remains the immediate priority while further investigation continues.
Officials are now verifying the movements of the woman and her alleged lover after they fled from the bus route. The police investigation is also focused on confirming the theft allegations and collecting statements from family members.
The Maharashtra child abandonment case has raised fresh concerns over child safety and parental responsibility. Authorities are expected to continue the investigation before taking further legal action based on verified evidence and official findings.
