The TGSRTC officials in Mahabubabad district are moving to file a police complaint after an inebriated individual attacked a state-run bus and assaulted the crew on Thursday. The incident took place on the forest route between Chilakamma Nagar and Pakhal, causing a security scare for the passengers on board.
Confrontation on Forest Route
The TGSRTC bus was in transit from Kothaguda Mandal in Mahabubabad district to Narsampet in Warangal district. According to reports, as the vehicle reached the forest stretch, a man under the influence of alcohol suddenly blocked its path, forcing the driver to bring the bus to a halt.
The individual engaged in an unprovoked argument with the driver. As the situation escalated, the man picked up a stone and pelted it at the bus, shattering the window panes. The sudden violence in a secluded forest area triggered panic among the commuters.
Assault on Public Servants
When the driver and conductor questioned the man regarding his actions and the obstruction of the bus, the suspect allegedly resorted to physical violence. He reportedly attacked both staff members while continuing to hurl verbal abuses in a drunken state.
Local RTC authorities have taken a serious view of the destruction of government property and the physical assault on public servants performing their duties. Officials are currently compiling the necessary details of the damage and the injuries sustained by the crew to initiate formal legal proceedings.
Impact on Rural Transit
Assaults on transport staff in remote areas often disrupt rural connectivity and raise concerns regarding the safety of transit employees. The police are expected to register a case under relevant sections for obstructing public servants and damaging public property once the formal complaint is lodged.
