Kodad Rural SI Attached to VR After Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka Convoy Route Change
A Sub-Inspector posted at Kodad Rural Police Station in Telangana's Suryapet district has been attached to the Reserve (VR) after allegedly diverting Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka's convoy from its scheduled route. The action follows a complaint personally made by the Deputy Chief Minister to the state's Director General of Police (DGP), expressing serious concern over the incident.
The police department issued orders attaching Sub-Inspector Gopal to the Reserve after the alleged deviation from the approved convoy route during the Deputy Chief Minister's movement. The development comes amid heightened scrutiny of security protocols followed during the movement of constitutional authorities and senior government officials.
Convoy Diverted From Approved Route
According to the information available, the Deputy Chief Minister's convoy was taken through a route other than the one that had been officially scheduled. The alleged route change prompted Bhatti Vikramarka to take up the matter directly with the DGP.
The Deputy Chief Minister reportedly expressed strong displeasure over the handling of the convoy movement and sought accountability for the incident.
No further details regarding the circumstances that led to the route diversion have been officially disclosed.
Deputy Chief Minister Seeks Explanation
In addition to lodging a complaint with the DGP, Bhatti Vikramarka sought explanations from the Inspector General of Police (IG) of Zone-2 and the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Suryapet district regarding the incident.
The move indicates that the matter is being examined not only at the local police level but also by senior officers responsible for law enforcement and security arrangements in the region.
Security protocols governing the movement of ministers and other protected public officials generally require adherence to pre-approved routes unless changes are necessitated by operational or security considerations.
Police Department Issues Orders
Following the complaint, the police department issued orders attaching SI Gopal to the Reserve (VR), pending further administrative action.
An attachment to the Reserve is an administrative measure under which an officer is relieved from the present posting and assigned to the police reserve. The department has not released additional information on whether any further disciplinary proceedings have been initiated.
Officials have also not publicly commented on the findings of any internal review into the incident.
The matter remains under the attention of senior police authorities after the Deputy Chief Minister sought explanations from the concerned officials.
