Police Register Kodad Highway Bus Accident Case After NH-65 Crash

A serious Kodad highway accident was reported on National Highway-65 in Kodad of Suryapet district during the early hours of Sunday after a private travels bus rammed into a lorry from behind. The road accident triggered panic among passengers as the front portion of the bus was completely damaged in the collision.

According to incident details, the private Yolo Travels bus was travelling from Kakinada towards Hyderabad when the accident took place. The latest update from local authorities confirmed that six passengers suffered serious injuries in the crash.

Private Travels Bus Hits Lorry on NH-65

Police said the accident occurred within Kodad town limits on the busy National Highway-65 stretch. The bus reportedly collided with a lorry moving ahead of it, leading to a heavy impact.

At the time of the accident, around 36 passengers were travelling in the private bus. Following the collision, several passengers rushed out of the vehicle in panic while injured passengers cried out for help.

The bus sustained severe front-end damage, and traffic movement on the highway was temporarily affected after the incident.

Passengers Allege Driver Fatigue Behind Kodad Highway Accident

Passengers alleged that the bus driver may have been driving in a drowsy condition during the early morning hours. According to them, the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle before crashing into the lorry.

Officials have not yet issued a final statement regarding the exact reason behind the road accident. However, police investigation into the incident is currently underway.

The allegation of driver fatigue has become a key angle in the case registered by local police authorities after the crash.

Police Conduct Rescue Operations After NH-65 Road Accident

After receiving information, Kodad Town Circle Inspector Shiva Shankar Naik and police personnel rushed to the accident site and initiated rescue operations.

The six injured passengers were shifted to the Kodad Government Hospital in 108 ambulances for treatment. Authorities said medical assistance was provided immediately after the accident.

Police personnel also cleared the damaged vehicles from the road to restore normal traffic flow on National Highway-65. Traffic disruption continued for some time before movement was normalised.

Case Registered, Police Investigation Continues

Police have registered a case in connection with the Kodad highway accident and initiated further investigation into the incident details.

Officials are expected to examine the condition of the bus driver, vehicle movement, and circumstances leading to the collision. No fatalities were reported in the incident as per the latest official update available.

The NH-65 stretch near Kodad witnesses heavy vehicle movement regularly, and authorities continue to monitor road safety and traffic management in the region.
