Jannaram Police Probe Student Suicide Case After Family Dispute

The Jannaram student suicide case has triggered concern in Mancherial district after a 19-year-old degree student allegedly died by suicide following a dispute at home. The latest update in the police investigation relates to the death of Akshaya, a resident of Rotiguda village under Jannaram mandal.

According to officials, the incident occurred after family members reportedly advised the student to reduce television watching and focus on her studies. The incident details have drawn attention locally due to the young age of the victim and the circumstances surrounding the case.

Student Suicide Case Reported in Mancherial District

Police identified the deceased as Mothukuri Akshaya, a first-year degree student from Rotiguda village. Jannaram SI G. Uday Kiran said the student allegedly consumed pesticide after feeling distressed following a conversation with her family members.

As per the official statement, Akshaya had reportedly been spending long hours watching television. Family members are said to have advised her to concentrate more on academics and reduce screen time.

Police said the student later consumed pesticide at home. She reportedly died during treatment efforts following the incident.

Police Investigation Underway in Jannaram

The Jannaram police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident. Officials stated that statements from family members and local residents are being recorded as part of the inquiry.

Police said preliminary findings indicate there was no external dispute involved in the case. Investigators are currently examining all incident details before submitting a final report.
