Jana Sena Party to Contest in Telangana, Pawan Kalyan Declares
Jana Sena Party leader and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Wednesday announced that his party will remain active in Telangana and contest future elections in the state. Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad, he strongly responded to criticism over Jana Sena's involvement in Telangana politics and asserted the party's commitment to the region.
The latest update comes amid political discussions surrounding Jana Sena's future expansion and its role in Telangana's political landscape. Pawan Kalyan said the party was founded in Hyderabad and therefore has every right to speak on issues concerning Telangana.
Pawan Kalyan Defends Jana Sena's Telangana Stand
During the press meet, Pawan Kalyan questioned why some political voices object to Jana Sena discussing Telangana issues. He said the party was established in the heart of Hyderabad and its concern for Telangana was not a recent development.
He stated that he had travelled extensively across Telangana, including regions once affected by Naxal activity such as Adilabad. According to him, his opposition was never towards Telangana as a state but towards the manner in which the bifurcation process was carried out.
Pawan Kalyan also maintained that there is no hostility between the people of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. He said Telangana residents and leaders have generally not displayed hatred towards people from Andhra Pradesh despite political differences.
Strong Response to Political Criticism
The Jana Sena chief responded sharply to individuals questioning his presence in Hyderabad and Telangana. He rejected attempts to intimidate him and said he was prepared to openly state his residential address if required.
Referring to criticism and allegations made against him, Pawan Kalyan said he had rarely commented on Telangana leaders, including former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, over the past several years. He added that while he had faced threats from political opponents in Andhra Pradesh, he had not experienced similar intimidation from Telangana citizens.
He also addressed allegations related to land and property encroachments. Pawan Kalyan said that if authorities believe he has illegally occupied any lake or property, the Telangana government should investigate and seize it immediately if wrongdoing is established.
Telangana Commitment and Public Contributions
Highlighting his connection with Telangana, Pawan Kalyan pointed to financial assistance provided for religious and public causes. He said he had contributed funds for the development of the Kondagattu Anjanna temple and had also donated during flood relief efforts.
The Jana Sena leader claimed that his first political case registered against him was in Telangana and recalled facing attacks in districts such as Mahabubnagar and Khammam. Despite such incidents, he said he would continue speaking on Telangana-related issues whenever necessary.
Jana Sena Party to Expand Activities in Telangana
In a significant political statement, Pawan Kalyan announced that Jana Sena will strengthen its presence across Telangana and participate in elections. He said he would personally travel throughout the state and engage with people directly.
Responding to speculation about his political ambitions, Pawan Kalyan remarked that he was not aspiring to become Telangana's Chief Minister. However, he made it clear that Jana Sena would remain active in the state and continue raising issues affecting Telangana residents.
The official statement signals a renewed push by the Jana Sena Party in Telangana. As political activity gathers pace ahead of future electoral contests, Pawan Kalyan's remarks are expected to add momentum to discussions over regional politics, party expansion, and public outreach efforts in the state.
