Police Intensify Jahnavi Missing Case Search Operation in Tuni
The Jahnavi missing case in Andhra Pradesh's Tuni has entered a critical phase as police and revenue authorities continue extensive search operations for the two-and-a-half-year-old girl who has been missing for four days. Despite large-scale efforts across hill terrain and plantation areas, there has been no breakthrough so far. The latest update has drawn widespread attention as officials focus on fresh clues linked to the family's pet dog.
Jahnavi Missing Case Remains Unsolved After Four Days
Jahnavi, daughter of Sunkara Bhavani and Ganesh, went missing from CH Agraharam village under Dondavaka Panchayat in Tuni mandal of Kakinada district. The family works as caretakers in a palm oil plantation and resides in an isolated area surrounded by hills and plantations.
According to family members, the child stepped out of the house around 11.30 am on June 6 and was believed to be heading towards her father. However, her father later stated that she never reached him. The incident triggered immediate concern, leading relatives and villagers to launch a search operation in nearby areas.

Massive Search Operation Continues in Hill and Forest Areas
The police investigation has expanded significantly over the last few days. More than 200 personnel from the police and revenue departments have been deployed to search hill ranges, forest routes, plantations, and nearby villages.
Authorities have also conducted aerial surveillance using drone cameras. However, no concrete evidence regarding the child's whereabouts has emerged so far. Officials continue to examine all possible leads as part of the ongoing search operation.
A local resident reportedly informed authorities that he heard a young child crying in a hill region. He said he was unable to move further after noticing a dog nearby. Based on that information, search teams thoroughly examined the area but found no trace of Jahnavi.
Pet Dog Emerges as Key Lead in Police Investigation
One of the most significant developments in the Jahnavi missing case is the reappearance of the family's pet dog, which had also been missing since the child's disappearance.
The dog reportedly returned near the family's residence after several days and later moved back towards the hill region. During one such visit, it allegedly pulled Bhavani's scarf before running away again. The unusual behaviour prompted authorities to closely monitor the animal's movements.
A dog-catching team operating under Tuni municipal authorities eventually secured the animal. Officials are now studying whether its movements could provide any clues in the case.
Authorities Announce Reward for Information
With no major leads emerging from the search operation, police have announced a cash reward of ₹1 lakh for information leading to Jahnavi's whereabouts.
Officials stated that the identity of informants would be kept confidential. The reward announcement is part of efforts to encourage public participation in locating the missing child.
At present, investigators are examining multiple angles, including whether the child wandered into difficult terrain or whether any other circumstances may have contributed to her disappearance. Family members have not expressed suspicion against any individual.
Officials Continue Search as Family Awaits Breakthrough
The case registered in connection with the child's disappearance remains under active investigation. Authorities have restricted unnecessary movement in certain search zones while teams continue combing hill areas and surrounding plantations.
The reappearance of the pet dog has given the family renewed hope. However, officials say the police investigation is still underway and no definitive conclusion has been reached. As the Jahnavi missing case continues to unfold, authorities remain focused on tracing the child at the earliest.
