The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather warning for Telangana, forecasting three days of hailstorms and thunderstorms across several districts. This weather pattern is attributed to a trough extending from Telangana to Tamil Nadu, which is currently influencing atmospheric conditions in the region.

Trough Extension Triggers Regional Instability

According to the latest meteorological reports, the trough is expected to maintain its presence, leading to sustained rainfall and high-velocity winds. Meteorological officials indicate that the interaction of weather systems over the southern peninsula is drawing moisture, resulting in unpredictable precipitation patterns.

Specific Districts Under Hailstorm Warning

The weather department has identified specific clusters that are likely to witness intense activity. Mahabూbnagar, Nagarkurnool, and Narayanpet are expected to experience significant rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning. These areas are currently on alert for potential crop damage due to the projected intensity of the downpour.

Further north and in the central zones, Nizamabad, Medak, and Sangareddy districts are slated for hailstorms. The IMD has warned that these hail events will be accompanied by gusty winds, which could impact temporary structures and local transport modules.

Safety Protocols and Agricultural Impact

Authorities have advised residents in the affected districts to remain cautious of lightning strikes and falling debris during the gusty wind phases. Farmers in the Medak and Sangareddy belts have been specifically alerted to protect harvested produce and standing crops from the impending hail.

Local administrations in the notified districts are monitoring the situation to manage any potential disruptions to power supply or road blocks caused by uprooted trees. The forecast remains active for the next 72 hours, with the intensity expected to fluctuate based on the movement of the trough toward Tamil Nadu.
