Hyderabad Police Register Case After Woman Alleges Assault by Husband

A case has been registered under the Kukatpally police station limits in Hyderabad following a complaint by a woman alleging sexual assault and cheating by her husband. The incident has raised concerns over deception, coercion, and criminal intimidation.

According to the complaint, a man identified as Nawaz initially approached the woman seeking a shop on rent. After securing the rental space, he reportedly developed a personal relationship with her and expressed his intention to marry.

Relationship Develops After Rental Agreement

The woman stated that Nawaz pursued her persistently, claiming to be in love. After she accepted his proposal, he allegedly changed his name to Navadurga and married her in June 2025.

The marriage followed what the complainant described as a period of trust built during their interactions related to the rented shop. The woman has claimed that she agreed to the marriage based on his representations.

Allegations of Assault and Threats

In her complaint, the woman alleged that on the first night after marriage, Nawaz administered an intoxicating substance to her. She further stated that he, along with four others, sexually assaulted her.

The complainant also alleged that she was threatened with death if she disclosed the incident to anyone. She stated that due to fear, she did not immediately approach authorities.

Police have taken cognisance of the complaint and registered a case. An investigation is underway to verify the allegations and trace the accused.

Context of the Case

The case highlights concerns related to identity concealment, misuse of trust, and alleged financial and physical exploitation. Officials are expected to examine all aspects, including the accused’s background and previous marital history.

Further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
