Hyderabad Task Force Apprehends Escaped Prisoner, Registers Case Under BNS

Escape During Medical Checkup Triggers Case

The Commissioner’s Task Force, Charminar Zone, along with Hussaini Alam Police, apprehended an undertrial prisoner who had escaped from police custody during a medical visit in Hyderabad.

The accused, identified as Ghantasala Triveni, aged about 26 years, a ladies tailor from Surabhi Colony, Lingampalli in Ranga Reddy district, had fled from Modern Maternity Hospital, Petlaburj, under the limits of Hussaini Alam Police Station.

Incident at Hospital and Immediate Police Action

According to police records, the incident occurred on 13-04-2026 when escort police personnel had taken the prisoner from Chanchalguda Women Jail to Government Maternity Hospital, Petlaburj, for treatment.

During the medical checkup, the accused escaped from the hospital premises at around 11:00 hours while still in handcuffs. Despite immediate searches by escort staff in and around the hospital, she could not be traced.

Based on a complaint from escort police, a case was registered as Cr.No. 115/2026 under Section 262 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Hussaini Alam Police Station.

CCTV Tracking and Movement Across Cities

During investigation, police teams analysed CCTV footage from the hospital and transit points including bus and railway stations. It was found that the accused travelled to Secunderabad Railway Station and boarded the Shatavahana Express.

She contacted a relative using a co-passenger’s mobile phone and falsely informed him that she had secured bail. The relative later received her at Vijayawada Railway Station and took her to Bhimavaram, her native place.

On 15-04-2026 evening, she boarded another train to Hyderabad. By early morning, she reached Secunderabad, moved to Dilsukh Nagar, and stayed in a women’s hostel before travelling by bus to a Coffee Day outlet in Gachibowli.

Task Force Operation Leads to Arrest

Acting on technical inputs and specific information, the Commissioner’s Task Force, Charminar Zone team, along with Hussaini Alam Police, tracked her movements and reached the location in Gachibowli.

After confirming her identity, the teams apprehended Ghantasala Triveni. A POCO mobile phone and handcuffs were seized during the operation.

Following completion of legal formalities, she was produced before the Hon’ble Magistrate and remanded to judicial custody at Chanchalguda Central Jail.

Officers Involved in Operation

The operation was carried out under the supervision of S. Saidababu, Inspector of Police, Charminar Zone Task Force. The team included Sub-Inspectors K. Rama Rao, K. Swamy, M. Mahesh, and M. Madhu, along with Police Constables K. Kiran and A. Sandeep.

The Commissioner’s Task Force, Charminar Zone, and staff of Hussaini Alam Police Station jointly executed the operation.
