Two Arrested in Hyderabad for Harassing Family on Highway at Midnight
The Rachakonda Police have arrested two individuals for allegedly stalking and harassing a family on a highway outside Hyderabad during the early hours of the morning. The suspects reportedly pursued the family's vehicle on a motorcycle, creating a dangerous situation on the road and causing severe distress to the occupants.
The incident took place on the highway linking Ghatkesar and Boduppal. According to law enforcement officials, the victims were returning home in their car from a wedding ceremony at midnight when a group of youths on motorcycles began tracking their vehicle. The attackers actively blocked the car's path by swerving their motorcycles directly in front of it while shouting aggressively.
CCTV Analysis Leads to Swift Apprehensions
Following the traumatic encounter on the highway, the family filed a formal complaint with the local police. Investigators immediately initiated a tracking operation, focusing heavily on analyzing digital closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera footage installed along the Ghatkesar-Boduppal transit corridor.
By mapping the registration details and physical descriptions obtained from the highway surveillance network, the police successfully verified the identities of the suspects. The arrested individuals have been identified as 21-year-old Ranga Shiva and 20-year-old Akhil, both residents of Hanmapuram village located within the Bhongir mandal.
Vehicle Seizure and Legal Action
In addition to taking both young men into custody, law enforcement officers located and seized the motorcycle utilized during the highway chase. A formal criminal case has been registered against the duo under relevant sections of the law, and a comprehensive investigation is currently underway to ascertain if other individuals were involved in the targeted harassment.
