ACB Officials Nab GHMC Staff in Hyderabad ACB Bribery Case

In a latest update in the Hyderabad ACB bribery case, Anti-Corruption Bureau officials caught a GHMC employee while allegedly accepting a Rs 1 lakh bribe. The incident, which took place in Borabanda, has once again highlighted ongoing corruption complaints in civic administration.

According to incident details, the accused has been identified as Srilatha, a junior assistant working in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation office. She was caught red-handed during an ACB trap operation while accepting part of the demanded bribe amount.

Hyderabad ACB bribery case: Rs 5 lakh demand for file clearance

Officials said the accused had allegedly demanded Rs 5 lakh to process a house construction permission file. The complainant, unable to proceed without clearance, approached the Anti-Corruption Bureau with evidence.

Based on the complaint, ACB officials laid a trap and caught the GHMC employee while accepting Rs 1 lakh as the first instalment. The cash was seized on the spot as part of the operation.

ACB registers case, investigation underway

In an official statement, ACB confirmed that a case registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act is under investigation. The agency stated that strict action would be taken against public servants involved in bribery.

Officials are now examining whether similar demands were made in other cases linked to building permissions. Further enquiries are part of the ongoing police investigation.
