She Gave Birth to a Girl. Her Husband Walked Out

Archana got married in 2012 to Ravi, both from Wanaparthy district. For years, she says, she endured the grind of household chores, agricultural labor, and harassment from her in-laws — all under the umbrella of "joint family duties."

But things turned sharply worse after she delivered a baby girl. According to Archana, that birth changed everything.

From Neglect to Abandonment

Her husband and in-laws began distancing themselves from her almost immediately after the daughter's birth. Ravi eventually relocated to Hyderabad — and Archana says he didn't go alone.

She alleges Ravi moved in with another woman and has since fathered two sons with her. In her account, while she raised their daughter alone back in Wanaparthy, her husband was building an entirely new family in the city.

Divorce Petition Filed — Then Avoided

Ravi reportedly filed a divorce petition at a Wanaparthy court, citing grounds that Archana disputes. The case is still active, with a final hearing for settlement scheduled on the 28th of this month.

Archana claims Ravi has been deliberately skipping court appearances to delay or dodge the proceedings — a move she says leaves her legally stranded and financially unsupported.

She Showed Up at His Door

Fed up with inaction, Archana recently went to Ravi's Hyderabad residence herself — with the help of family members and local residents. That visit confirmed her suspicions. She saw firsthand that he was living with another woman.

On Monday, she staged a protest right outside his home. Her demands were direct: financial maintenance for herself and her daughter, legal action against her husband, and accountability from the authorities.

Women's Groups and Police Take Notice

Women's organizations and police officials from the Saroornagar jurisdiction responded to the protest. Family members are pushing for immediate intervention, while Archana's family is demanding a full-scale investigation to establish the facts of the case.

Saroornagar police have confirmed they are reviewing the background details of the matter.

This case puts a spotlight on a pattern that persists quietly in many parts of India — daughters seen as burdens, wives discarded for failing to produce sons. Archana's willingness to take her fight to her husband's doorstep signals she has no intention of fading away quietly.
