Who Is Harsha Sunny

The accused has been identified as Harsha Sunny, a model and runner-up of Mrs Kerala 2025. She arrived at Mumbai airport on a flight from Bangkok late on Wednesday night, as per officials.

Customs officers on duty noticed her movements were suspicious and decided to screen her more closely. A detailed check of her trolley bag followed.

What the Search Revealed

Inside the bag, officials found vacuum-sealed packets containing 11 kg of contraband. The seized drugs have been valued at approximately Rs 11.82 crore, according to the customs department's latest update.

Vacuum sealing is a method commonly used by drug carriers to mask odour and avoid detection by sniffer dogs. The technique has been flagged repeatedly by agencies dealing with international drug trafficking at Indian airports.

Mumbai Customs Acts, Case Registered

Harsha Sunny was taken into custody immediately after the seizure. A case has been registered under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

She was produced before a court, which remanded her to custody. The investigation is now being carried out by customs authorities to determine the source of the consignment and whether a larger network is involved.

Bangkok-Mumbai Drug Route Under Scanner

The Bangkok–Mumbai air route has come under increased scrutiny in recent years due to its repeated appearance in drug smuggling cases. Authorities have flagged this corridor as a known channel for narcotics being moved into India.

As per sources, officials are now probing whether Harsha Sunny was acting alone or was part of an organised drug supply chain. Her links, travel history, and communications are being examined as part of the ongoing police investigation.

No official statement has been issued by the pageant organisation that hosted Mrs Kerala 2025 as of this report.
