Eluru Police Probe Contract Killing Case, Wife Arrested for Husband’s Murder
The Eluru murder case has taken a shocking turn after police revealed that a woman allegedly hired killers to murder her husband with the help of her lover. The latest update in the police investigation relates to the killing of Suleman Raju, a resident of Vadlamanu village, whose body was found last month in a canal area.
According to officials, the murder took place on April 17 and was later investigated as a suspected contract killing case. Police said the accused woman, identified as Durgamani, allegedly planned the murder after disputes with her husband over her alleged extramarital relationship.
Eluru Murder Case Linked to Extramarital Affair
Police officials stated that Durgamani was allegedly involved in a relationship with Venkannababu, who works at the Vadlamanu village secretariat. Investigators said Suleman Raju had reportedly come to know about the affair and frequently questioned and confronted his wife over the issue.
During the police investigation, officers found that the accused had allegedly decided to eliminate Suleman Raju to remove what they described as an obstacle to their relationship. Authorities said a contract worth Rs 12 lakh was allegedly arranged for the murder.
The incident details emerged after sustained questioning and technical evidence analysis by the investigation team.
Police Investigation Reveals Murder Plot
According to the official statement issued by police, Suleman Raju was allegedly strangled using a mobile phone charging cable. After the murder, the accused reportedly dumped the body in the Uppuluru Ryves canal in an attempt to destroy evidence and mislead investigators.
Police said the case was cracked after examining multiple leads, digital evidence, and movement records linked to the accused persons. Officials confirmed that a case registered in connection with the murder has led to the arrest of the accused involved in the conspiracy.
Investigators also seized a car, mobile phones, cash, and the charging cable allegedly used in the crime. Authorities said forensic and technical examination of the seized materials is continuing as part of the ongoing investigation.
