Two murders reported near CM residence trigger probe

A double murder case reported near Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s residence has revealed disturbing details during investigation. Filmnagar police have taken a suspect into custody and initiated legal proceedings.

The accused has been identified as Vasu, who worked as a car driver at a doctor’s residence located on Road Number 44 in Jubilee Hills.

First murder carried out for money to fund gambling

According to police findings, the accused allegedly targeted elderly women to obtain money for online gambling. On the 11th of last month, he reportedly offered a lift to an elderly woman identified as Yadamma and later murdered her.

After the crime, the accused took the gold ornaments from the victim and pawned them. He then used Rs 26,500 obtained from the ornaments to play online card games.

Second murder after gambling losses

Police stated that after losing money in online gambling, the accused committed another murder on the 14th of the same month. The second victim has been identified as Mangamma, another elderly woman.

The pattern of the crime indicates that the accused repeated the act after facing financial losses, again targeting a vulnerable victim.

Bodies are transported and disposed of at a distant location

Investigators found that the accused transported the bodies in a car during the daytime. The bodies were later dumped at Mokila, nearly 20 kilometres away from the crime location.

This method of disposing of bodies raised suspicion, leading to further investigation by the police.

Accused arrested and remanded

Filmnagar police arrested the accused following investigation and questioning. He has been produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody.

The case highlights the role of online gambling as a contributing factor in the crimes. Police continue to examine the sequence of events and gather additional details related to the incident.
