Doctors Perform Amputation After Child Injured at Medaram Sammakka Site

Accident at Medaram Sammakka Gaddelu

A six-year-old boy sustained severe injuries after a construction-related accident at the Medaram Sammakka Gaddelu site in Mulugu district. The incident occurred on the 25th of last month while the child was playing near the premises.

According to available details, stone slabs that were part of ongoing construction work fell on the boy’s leg, causing critical injuries. The victim has been identified as Yuvan (6), son of Sammakka temple priest Siddaboyina Ramesh.

Treatment and Medical Decision

Following the incident, the child was shifted to a private hospital where he was undergoing treatment. Doctors initially attempted surgical intervention to save the injured leg.

However, medical assessment later confirmed that the limb could not be restored to its previous condition. In view of the severity of the damage, doctors proceeded with amputation of the affected leg.


Family Expresses Distress

The child’s family has expressed deep anguish over the incident and the loss suffered. The boy’s father, who serves as a priest associated with the Sammakka temple, is said to be devastated by the outcome.

The incident has raised concerns over safety measures at construction zones within temple premises, particularly during periods when public movement remains high.
