A sacred temple ceremony turned into a scene of chaos and horror in the Sarapaka village of Bhadradri Kothagudem district when a massive Dhvajastambham (temple flagstaff) suddenly snapped and collapsed during its re-installation. The shocking incident, which occurred at the Vinayaka Temple on the main road, resulted in injuries to a young child and a woman, prompting an immediate emergency response.
Eyewitnesses reported that the re-installation of the sacred pillar was underway with the help of a crane. As the heavy stone column was being hoisted into position, it suddenly fractured under the strain, breaking into three pieces and crashing to the ground. The terrifying moment sent devotees scrambling for safety, narrowly avoiding a much larger catastrophe.
