Off-Duty Officer Shoots Two After Noise Dispute; Manhunt Underway

NEW DELHI – A late-night dispute over loud noise escalated into a deadly confrontation in Southwest Delhi, where an off-duty police officer allegedly opened fire on a group of laborers, killing one man and critically injuring another. The shocking incident occurred in the Jafarpur Kalan area of Dwarka, prompting a massive manhunt for the officer who fled the scene immediately after the shooting.

The tragic event unfolded around 2 AM on Sunday when the laborers were reportedly holding a small party. The officer, who lives in the vicinity, confronted the group over the noise level, leading to a heated argument that ultimately turned fatal.

Altercation Turns Deadly in Dwarka Firing Incident

According to preliminary reports, the verbal dispute quickly turned violent. Enraged by the confrontation, the officer allegedly drew his service revolver and fired into the group of workers. Two men sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

Tragically, one of the victims succumbed to his injuries while undergoing medical care. The second laborer remains hospitalized, receiving treatment for the wounds he sustained in the altercation. Authorities are working to confirm the identities of the victims and notify their families.

Senior police officials arrived at the scene shortly after receiving information about the Jafarpur Kalan shooting. A criminal case has been officially registered, and a thorough investigation into the circumstances that led to the off-duty officer opening fire has been launched.
