Cyberabad Police Nab Nepali Gang Theft Suspects in Gachibowli Villa Case
A major Nepali gang theft case reported from Hill Ridge Villas in Gachibowli has seen a breakthrough after Cyberabad Police tracked and arrested three suspects and recovered the stolen valuables. The latest update comes after multiple police teams worked across different states to trace the accused.
According to the incident details, a Nepali couple allegedly entered a villa on June 6 when the owners were away and carried out the theft.
Gachibowli Theft Incident Details
The elderly residents returned to their home on the evening of June 7 and noticed that a gold chain attached to a small idol was missing. They approached the police, following which a case was registered and a police investigation was launched.
The next evening, their son opened the family locker using the key available to him and found that nearly 7 to 8 kilograms of gold ornaments and around 1.5 kilograms of silver ornaments were missing. The discovery led to an expanded investigation into the villa theft case.
Cyberabad Police Investigation and Multi-State Search
Following the complaint, the Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad, directed the Special Operations Team, crime teams, and local police units to work on the available clues. Officials tracked the movement of the accused through the evidence collected during the investigation.
Police dispatched six teams to Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Uttarakhand. The details and photographs of the suspects were shared with the respective state police authorities, and assistance was sought to locate them.
A special team constituted to track Nepali gangs, under the leadership of the Hyderabad police, also joined the operation.
Three Accused Arrested, Stolen Property Recovered
Police officials said that on June 9, Gachibowli Division Inspector Naresh and his team, with the support of local police in Uttar Pradesh, apprehended three accused at Udhampur in Rampur district.
The arrested individuals were identified as Kamal Shashi, his wife Vimal Shahi, and another woman, Kalpana. Officials stated that the stolen property was recovered intact.
According to the official statement, the accused allegedly confessed that they found the locker key kept beside the locker, opened it, removed the jewellery, locked it again, and took the key with them before leaving the premises.
The accused are being produced before the local court and will be brought to Hyderabad on a transit warrant for further legal proceedings.
Police Advisory After Nepali Gang Theft Case
Following the arrest, Cyberabad Police urged citizens to take precautionary measures to prevent similar incidents. Officials advised residents to verify the background and antecedents of domestic helpers and workers through local police services.
The authority response also highlighted the importance of using police verification facilities, particularly while engaging domestic staff, as part of crime prevention efforts.
The Nepali gang theft case, which triggered a large-scale police investigation and inter-state operation, remains under further legal process as authorities continue their action in the matter.
