ACB Conducts HMWSSB GM Raid in Secunderabad, Seizes Cash and Gold
The Anti-Corruption Bureau conducted raids at the residence of an HMWSSB general manager in Secunderabad and seized cash, gold jewellery, and documents linked to alleged disproportionate assets. The latest update from the ACB operation has drawn attention after officials reportedly identified properties worth nearly Rs 100 crore during the ongoing searches.
According to incident details released during the raids, the searches were carried out at the residence of Kumar, General Manager of the Red Hills Division under Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board. Officials searched his house located in Venkataramana Colony in Mallapur area of Secunderabad.

ACB Raid on HMWSSB Official Recovers Rs 1.05 Crore Cash
During the operation, ACB officials recovered Rs 1.05 crore in cash and around one kilogram of gold ornaments from the residence. The seizure was made as part of the anti-corruption investigation into alleged assets disproportionate to known sources of income.
Officials also identified multiple immovable properties linked to the officer and his family members. Preliminary findings reportedly revealed ownership of three acres of land in Nizamabad and nine flats in Hyderabad.
The anti-corruption agency is continuing searches at multiple locations linked to the HMWSSB official. Authorities have not yet issued a final official statement regarding the total valuation of assets seized during the operation.
Investigation Continues Into Alleged Disproportionate Assets Case
Sources associated with the investigation said the total assets identified during the raids could be valued at nearly Rs 100 crore. However, officials indicated that verification and documentation processes are still underway.
The case has become a major development involving a senior official connected to Hyderabad’s civic water supply administration. ACB teams are examining financial records, property documents, bank details, and jewellery recovered during the searches.
No formal arrest information has been released so far. Officials also did not confirm whether a separate case registered under anti-corruption provisions would follow after completion of the ongoing verification process.
